What to do if your endometrium is thickened

Endometrial thickening is also known as endometrial hyperplasia in clinical practice. It is a common disease among female friends. Because this disease has a certain tendency to become cancerous, it is also called precancerous lesions. Many women with this disease want to know what to do about endometrial thickening. Next, let's learn about the treatment of this disease.

What to do if the endometrium is thick

1. Surgical treatment

Although curettage is an important method for diagnosing this disease, it is also one of the treatment methods. Because the patient's lesions are likely to be cleared during the curettage process. For patients over 40 who have no fertility requirements, the hysterectomy can be performed directly after diagnosis. However, if the patient suffers from diabetes and hypertension, drug treatment should be carried out first under close follow-up. If drug treatment is ineffective for young patients, hysterectomy can be considered.

2. Drug treatment

First, the patient is given clomiphene, a drug that promotes ovulation, and whether the medication time should be extended is determined based on the patient's condition. Then treatment is carried out based on the severity and type of the disease. If it is mild atypical hyperplasia, progesterone needs to be injected intramuscularly. Patients with moderate to severe atypical hyperplasia need to use medroxyprogesterone continuously, and the patient should take it as a course of 3 months. After each course of treatment, the patient needs to undergo a curettage or remove the endometrial tissue for examination.

3. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment

In addition, endometrial thickening can also be treated through traditional Chinese medicine. Because traditional Chinese medicine still has certain advantages and characteristics in treating gynecological diseases, and has little or no side effects on patients. Moreover, traditional Chinese medicine will adopt different treatment methods according to the patient's constitution and cause of the disease, and use the method of taking advantage of the situation to adjust the menstrual cycle and achieve the purpose of restoring ovulation.
