Can endometrial tuberculosis be detected by endometrial biopsy?

Although more and more female friends are infected with endometrial tuberculosis, there are still quite a number of people who do not know much about the disease. They only know that it is a gynecological disease, and they don’t know much about other things. They don’t even know what endometrial tuberculosis is. So how to check for this disease? The following is an introduction given to us by a gynecologist.

1. Mass inspection

The endometrium is swollen and pale.

2. Microscopic examination

There are many plasma cells and lymphocytes infiltrating in the intimal stroma. It is worth pointing out that the presence of more plasma cells is extremely important for diagnosis. Prolonged inflammation may lead to proliferation of fibroblasts and capillaries.

In cases of endometrial tuberculosis after miscarriage, attention should be paid to the presence of villi and decidua. Especially if the miscarriage has been going on for a long time, the villi may be highly degenerated or even disappear, but scattered pieces of decidual tissue can often be found around the blood vessels.

3. Diagnostic curettage

The cause of the disease can be determined and malignant lesions can be excluded. Inflammation should be controlled for three days before surgery, and antibiotics should be continued after surgery. The operation should be gentle during surgery, because the infected uterine wall is fragile and prone to uterine perforation. The endometrium of senile endometrial tuberculosis is thin, so more care should be taken when scraping. Endometrial tuberculosis after abortion may have residual embryonic tissue, which should be carefully and comprehensively scraped, which can often play a therapeutic role at the same time.

The above three methods are the most common examination methods in clinical practice. After reading, you will have a better understanding of these examination items! Endometrial tuberculosis is a gynecological disease that endangers women's fertility. You must not let your guard down, otherwise it will affect your fertility and make you regret it.
