Introduction and reasons for publishing Bartholinitis

Bartholinitis is a common disease, especially in women of childbearing age. It affects the patient's daily life and causes distress to the patient. If you suffer from this disease, don't be nervous, maintain a good attitude, and be sure to go to a regular hospital for a check-up. Then, you must want to know what causes Bartholinitis?

Acute Bartholinitis is more common on one side. When it occurs, it first invades the gland duct, presenting with acute suppurative inflammation, with partial redness, swelling, heat and pain, i.e. swelling of the vulva on the affected side, burning sensation, severe pain, and sometimes a feeling of heaviness and difficulty in defecation. The gland duct opening is usually blocked due to swelling or coagulation of exudate, and pus cannot flow out to form an abscess, which is called Bartholin gland abscess.

If an abscess has formed, the mass may feel volatile and tender. If it is not treated in time, the pressure in the abscess cavity will increase and it may rupture on its own. After the pus flows out, the patient will feel relieved. If the rupture is small and the drainage is not smooth, it may recur, often making the patient restless when walking. Bartholinitis often has systemic manifestations such as enlarged inguinal lymph nodes, increased body temperature and increased white blood cell count.

What are the causes of Bartholinitis? The Bartholin glands are located in the deep 1/3 of the labia majora on both sides, and the gland duct opens between the hymen and the labia minora. Due to the characteristics of the anatomical location, pathogens can easily invade and cause Bartholinitis when the vulva is contaminated during sexual intercourse, labor, or other situations.

Bartholin's gland infection often first affects the gland duct, and the gland duct opening is blocked due to inflammation, congestion and edema. The secretions and exudates are not easy to be discharged, which can form Bartholin's gland abscess. So what is its pathogenesis? This disease is often a mixed infection, with complex pathogens. The main pathogens are endogenous pathogens and pathogens of sexually transmitted diseases. In China, most of them are Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. In foreign countries and a single area in China, Neisseria gonorrhoeae is the main cause. It can also be caused by anaerobic bacteria.

I believe that you have learned the causes of Bartholinitis through the above content. If you find that you have this disease, it is best to go to the hospital for examination in time to avoid delaying the disease. You should also pay attention to food safety and develop good living habits. I believe that as long as you maintain a positive and optimistic attitude and cooperate with professional treatment, your condition will soon improve. I wish you a speedy recovery!
