Can cervical precancerous lesions cause miscarriage?

Can cervical precancerous lesions cause miscarriage?

For women to conceive, the egg and sperm must coexist and combine in the uterine cavity, and the cervix is the only way for sperm to reach the uterine cavity. However, for patients with cervical cancer, the presence of tumors and cancer cells will seriously damage the environmental structure of the cervix and uterine cavity. The blood and pus produced by a large amount of lesions will prevent sperm from reaching the uterine cavity. So, will cervical precancerous lesions lead to miscarriage?

The fetus is prone to premature birth and developmental failure

"For patients with cervical cancer, doctors generally do not recommend conception and childbirth. First, the chance of pregnancy is very small; second, if the childbirth is forced, it will have a great impact on both the fetus and the mother." If a patient with cervical cancer successfully becomes pregnant, the fetus cannot fully develop in the cavity due to the poor environment in the uterine cavity. Moreover, due to the influence of cervical cancer, the fetus cannot be delivered naturally through the cervix and through the vagina. This means that premature delivery and caesarean section must be performed when the fetus is not fully mature, which is very dangerous for both the fetus and the patient.

"Fetal hypoplasia is mainly manifested in incomplete development of lung function, which may lead to neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, which can easily lead to respiratory failure and death. At the same time, underdeveloped babies have low weight, weak constitution, and low resistance, which will also bring great challenges to postpartum feeding. Chemotherapy for malignant tumors during pregnancy will also have some drug effects on the fetus. In general, giving birth to cervical cancer means a double risk for the mother and the fetus, and the cancerous area in the mother will grow rapidly.

The most dangerous thing for patients with cervical cancer is pregnancy. "Because early cervical cancer will not affect pregnancy, if cervical cancer is not detected before pregnancy, then as the pregnancy progresses, the uterus becomes congested, and the nutrients delivered by the mother not only nourish the baby, but also cause the cancerous part to grow at an extremely rapid rate." In addition, if some hormones secreted by the mother's body during pregnancy promote cancer, the body's immunity decreases during pregnancy, and some signs of cervical cancer, such as bleeding, are considered to be a sign of threatened abortion and ignored, it will be too late to discover it after the baby is born. From a clinical point of view, the prognosis is very poor.

Should pregnant women with cervical cancer have an abortion? Pregnancy with cervical cancer will harm both the fetus and the mother. Not only will the fetus be affected by the drugs, but the mother will also be accelerated to cancer due to pregnancy, so we do not advocate keeping the fetus. But in fact, many pregnant women with cervical cancer ask to keep the fetus, so we generally consider it as appropriate. If cervical cancer is found in the early stages of pregnancy, abortion should be resolutely performed; if the best time for abortion is missed and the patient has a strong desire to have children, she can consider giving birth. But it is best to screen for cervical cancer during the premarital examination and early prenatal examination.
