Treatment principles Kidney deficiency type The menstruation comes at irregular times, with little amount and clear color. Lack of energy, dizziness, tinnitus, soreness of waist and knees, clear and long urination or frequent urination at night, pale tongue with thin white coating. Kidney deficiency causes dysfunction of the function of sealing and storing, poor opening and closing, disorder of Chong and Ren meridians, abnormal accumulation and overflow of blood, so menstruation is irregular; kidney deficiency leads to insufficient marrow, so dizziness and tinnitus; waist is the external palace of kidney, kidney governs bones, kidney deficiency leads to sore waist and weak legs. Pale tongue with thin coating, deep and thready pulse are signs of kidney deficiency.

Tonifies the kidney and replenishes Qi, nourishes blood and regulates menstruation. Spleen deficiency type The amount may be more or less, the color is light red, and the texture is clear and thin. Fatigue, shortness of breath, fatigue, or eating less, loose stools, and pale tongue coating. Spleen deficiency has no power to control, Chong and Ren channels are out of balance, blood accumulation and overflow are abnormal, so menstruation is irregular; spleen deficiency is insufficient to produce qi and blood, so the menstrual color is light red and thin; spleen governs limbs and muscles, spleen deficiency will cause fatigue and weakness; spleen deficiency fails to transport and transform, so the abdomen is bloated, appetite is poor and food intake is less. Pale tongue, thin fur, slow pulse are also signs of spleen deficiency. Tonifies the spleen and replenishes Qi, nourishes blood and regulates menstruation. Liver depression type The menstrual flow may be more or less, not smooth, with clots, and normal or purple-red in color. Or there may be premenstrual lower abdominal or breast pain, which may extend to the flanks, irritability, occasional sighing, a normal or red tongue, and a thin white or yellow tongue coating. Liver depression and qi stagnation, qi disorder, Chong and Ren dysfunction, abnormal blood accumulation, so menstruation may be early or late, menstrual blood may be more or less; liver qi stagnation, meridians are not smooth, so menstruation is not smooth, dark color with clots; liver depression and meridians are stagnant, so the chest, breasts, and lower abdomen are swollen and painful; qi is not smooth, so the spirit is depressed and the desire to sigh is sometimes; liver strength insults spleen, spleen is not comfortable, so belching and less appetite; the syndrome is qi stagnation, there is no cold or heat inside, so the tongue is normal. Pulse is stringy, which is a sign of liver depression. Soothe the liver and relieve depression, harmonize blood and regulate menstruation.

Menstrual disorders refer to irregular menstruation, which means that menstruation does not come according to the normal cycle, sometimes it comes early, sometimes it comes late for more than 7 days, and it lasts for three consecutive menstrual cycles. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the main mechanism is the imbalance of Chong and Ren Qi and blood, and abnormal accumulation of blood. It can be divided into kidney deficiency, spleen deficiency and liver depression.
