What are the dangers of adnexitis?

Adnexitis is a disease caused by pathogenic microorganisms invading the reproductive organs and causing infection of the fallopian tubes and ovaries. It is common in daily life and has troubled many women for a long time. If it is not treated in time, it will lead to prolonged illness and difficult to cure. At the same time, it will also cause secondary diseases of other organs and systems, aggravating the patient's pain. The common hazards of adnexitis are as follows:

1. Can cause female infertility

If adnexitis is not treated in time, it can turn into chronic salpingitis. In severe cases, it can cause adhesion of the mucosa in the fallopian tube, resulting in fallopian tube obstruction, affecting the combination of sperm and egg and causing infertility.

2. Can cause ectopic pregnancy

The inflammatory stimulation of adnexitis can cause fallopian tube edema and thinning of the mucosa, which is not conducive to the combination of sperm and egg. If not treated in time and the condition worsens, the fallopian tube will become adhered due to necrosis of the mucosal epithelial cells, and even blocked, causing the fertilized egg to "settle down" in tissues and organs outside the uterus, which in turn leads to ectopic pregnancy.

3. Endocrine disorders

The function of the ovaries is to produce eggs and steroid hormones. Estrogen and progesterone play an important role in women and support their secondary sexual characteristics. Once adnexitis occurs, the normal function of the ovaries to secrete hormones is affected, leading to endocrine disorders.

In addition to the above situations, adnexitis can also cause hydrosalpinx, fluid accumulation or pus accumulation in the fallopian tube.
