Patients with Trichomonas vaginitis should avoid sexual intercourse

Trichomonal vaginitis is a common gynecological disease in married women. It is an inflammatory disease caused by the parasitism of Trichomonas in the vagina, which consumes the glycogen in the vagina, irritates the vaginal mucosa, and destroys the local self-cleaning defense function, causing bacterial infection. The main symptoms of patients are increased leucorrhea, yellow-green in color, with thin foam, foul odor, vaginal itching, lower abdominal pain, etc.

Trichomonas vaginalis can enter the male urethra through sexual intercourse, or penetrate into the prostate, causing inflammation. In the first few days after infection, men usually have no obvious discomfort symptoms, and then gradually develop symptoms such as urethral itching, burning sensation when urinating, pus or milky white secretions overflowing, accompanied by bleeding, redness, swelling, pain, and ulceration of the glans penis and foreskin. In addition, Trichomonas can also ascend along the urethral opening and urethra to the prostate duct opening and prostate, causing prostatitis and seminal vesiculitis. At this time, the patient will feel stuffy or dull pain in the genitals, discomfort when urinating, and needle-like pain after urinating. Some patients have a sense of urgency to defecate, but cannot defecate when going to the toilet.

Therefore, patients with Trichomonas vaginitis should strictly abstain from sexual intercourse when the disease has not been completely cured to avoid the spread of Trichomonas between husband and wife. Once men experience the above-mentioned discomfort, they should immediately seek examination from a urologist, and the couple should be treated together to achieve the goal of complete treatment.
