Middle-aged women are prone to vulvar leukoplakia

Itching is a typical symptom of vulvar leukoplakia. Many patients have itching symptoms at a very early stage, and it takes a long time to develop into vulvar leukoplakia. Today, we invite experts to tell us in detail about the symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia .

There are many types of vulvar leukoplakia, which leads to different symptoms, mainly:

First, lichen sclerosus type vulvar leukoplakia can be seen at any age, but is more common in women around 40 years old. The main symptom is itching in the lesion area, but it is generally much milder than the hyperplastic lesions. In the late stage, sexual intercourse becomes difficult. The lesions involve the vulvar skin, mucous membranes and skin around the anus. In addition to the skin or mucous membranes becoming white, thin, dry and easy to crack, they also lose elasticity, the clitoris often atrophies and adheres to the foreskin, and the labia minora flattens and disappears. In the late stage, the skin is thin and wrinkled like cigarette paper, and the vaginal opening is contracted and narrow, only the fingertips can fit.

Second, the main symptoms of mixed vulvar leukoplakia are the adjacent areas of the thin vulvar whitish area, or accompanied by focal skin thickening or protrusions and other symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia within its range.

Third, hyperplastic vulvar leukoplakia generally occurs in women aged 30 to 60. The surface color is mostly dark red or pink, mixed with clearly demarcated white patches, generally without atrophy or adhesion. The main symptoms are unbearable itching of the vulva, which is exacerbated by scratching. The lesion skin is thickened like leather, with raised wrinkles, or with scaly, eczematous changes. The range of lesions varies, mainly affecting the labia majora, the interlabial groove, the clitoral hood and the posterior commissure, and is mostly symmetrical.

The above is the introduction of "symptoms of vulvar leukoplakia", for reference only. Since vulvar leukoplakia is relatively common, female friends should receive regular treatment as soon as possible after discovering this disease.
