Introduction to the classification of several common ovarian cysts

Before treating ovarian cysts, you should first distinguish the types of ovarian cysts. Different patients may have different types of ovarian cysts, so treatment should be based on the type. What are the common types of ovarian cysts ? The following will tell you about the common types of ovarian cysts.

In general, the common types of ovarian cysts are:

1. Chocolate cyst: This type of ovarian cyst refers to endometriosis growing in the ovaries, forming a large amount of sticky coffee-colored liquid that looks like chocolate. Because endometriosis will grow larger over time, it will gradually erode normal tissues and cause irreversible damage to ovarian tissues. After evaluating its severity, surgery may be required.

2. Serous epithelial cysts and mucinous epithelial cysts: After three months of observation, the cysts that still exist may be epithelial ovarian cysts rather than functional cysts. This is because the serous cells and mucinous cells with secretory functions are buried in the ovaries after ovulation, and they continuously secrete fluid to form cysts. This type of cyst will not disappear and needs to be removed surgically. This is also a common classification of ovarian cysts.

3. Functional cysts: Also known as physiological cysts, this type of ovarian cyst is quite common among women of reproductive age. An abnormal amount of fluid accumulates in the follicle or corpus luteum, forming a follicular cyst or corpus luteum cyst. This functional cyst can sometimes be very large, but regardless of medication or not, it usually disappears on its own within three months.

4. Hemorrhagic cysts: In most cases, hemorrhagic ovarian cysts will recover, so they can be observed first and do not necessarily require medication or surgical treatment. However, sometimes hemorrhagic ovarian cysts are combined with intra-abdominal bleeding, or even massive bleeding causing shock, in which case emergency surgical treatment is necessary. This is a common type of ovarian cyst.

The above is an introduction to the common types of ovarian cysts. I believe everyone should know about this. No matter what type of ovarian cyst you suffer from, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid seriously delaying the disease and having adverse effects on the patient.
