Experts explain the relevant knowledge of primary dysmenorrhea

Primary dysmenorrhea is a type of dysmenorrhea with a high incidence rate. Almost more than 50% of dysmenorrhea patients suffer from primary dysmenorrhea. So what exactly is primary dysmenorrhea ? Here is a brief introduction to the relevant knowledge of primary dysmenorrhea.

The following are some explanations about primary dysmenorrhea:

Primary pain often occurs during ovulatory menstruation, so there are no symptoms or only mild discomfort 1 to 2 years after menarche. Severe spasmodic pain often occurs in young women 1 to 2 years after menarche. If regular dysmenorrhea occurs at the beginning or spasmodic dysmenorrhea occurs after the age of 25, other abnormal conditions should be considered.

Primary dysmenorrhea usually begins with the onset of menstruation or a few hours before vaginal bleeding, often with spasmodic colic, which lasts 1/2-2 hours. After the onset of severe abdominal pain, it turns into moderate paroxysmal pain, which lasts about 12 to 24 hours. The pain gradually disappears after the menstrual blood flows out smoothly, and occasionally some patients need to stay in bed for 2-3 days. The pain of patients with primary dysmenorrhea is located in the lower abdomen. In severe cases, it can radiate to the waist or the anterior medial thigh. About 50% of patients with primary dysmenorrhea have gastrointestinal and cardiovascular symptoms. Such as nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headache and fatigue. Occasionally, there is syncope or collapse. A negative gynecological bimanual examination or anal examination can make a diagnosis of primary dysmenorrhea.

The above is the introduction of relevant knowledge about primary dysmenorrhea, I hope it will be helpful to everyone. Once you suffer from primary dysmenorrhea, you must go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid missing the best time for treatment.
