Local treatment of cervical hypertrophy

Local treatment of cervical hypertrophy

Local treatment of cervical hypertrophy can be done with drugs, physical therapy and surgery. Cervical hypertrophy is often caused by chronic inflammation, abnormal hormone levels or multiple births. Local treatment should be based on the cause and symptoms.

1. Drug therapy is a common local treatment for cervical hypertrophy. Antibiotics, such as metronidazole suppositories and clindamycin vaginal suppositories, can be used to treat cervical hypertrophy caused by chronic inflammation to help eliminate inflammation. Estrogen drugs, such as estriol ointment, can be used to regulate local hormone levels for hypertrophy caused by abnormal hormone levels. Traditional Chinese medicine preparations such as Baofukang suppositories can also be used to relieve symptoms, which have the effects of anti-inflammatory and promoting tissue repair.

2. Physical therapy is suitable for patients with mild symptoms or poor response to drug treatment. Laser therapy vaporizes diseased tissue through high-energy beams to promote the regeneration of healthy tissue. Cryotherapy uses the low temperature of liquid nitrogen to cause necrosis and shedding of diseased tissue, and is suitable for surface lesions. Electrocautery therapy uses high-frequency current to burn the lesion site, and is suitable for smaller hypertrophic tissue.

3. Surgical treatment is suitable for patients with severe hypertrophy or other lesions. Cervical conization removes part of the cervical tissue and is suitable for patients with hypertrophy and intraepithelial neoplasia. Loop electrosurgical excision of the cervix removes the lesion tissue through an electric knife and is suitable for hypertrophy with a larger range. Cervical resection is suitable for a very small number of patients with severe hypertrophy and repeated recurrences. The scope of surgery needs to be evaluated according to the specific situation.

Local treatment of cervical hypertrophy requires selecting appropriate methods based on the patient's specific situation. During treatment, personal hygiene should be paid attention to, sexual intercourse should be avoided, and regular check-ups should be conducted to evaluate the treatment effect.
