Obese and tired even though you don’t eat high-calorie foods? Doctor Liu Boen: 4 tips for cleaning your body to lose weight easily

Every October to February of the following year is the season when Chinese people are most likely to gain weight. In addition to the drop in temperature, there are frequent dinner parties during the New Year holidays. Although many people who want to lose weight pay attention to calorie control, their weight still soars, and they even become obese and feel tired. Be careful about the accumulation of toxins in the body. Weight loss physician Liu Bowen said that if you want to do a thorough cleaning of your body, there are four tips.

Eating too much preservatives or antioxidants can lead to obesity

According to clinical experience, despite the control of high-calorie food intake after the Chinese New Year, there are still many patients whose weight continues to soar and who seek outpatient treatment. Obesity specialist Dr. Liu Bowen said that from the daily dietary flow charts of these patients, it can be found that most of them choose packaged "fast food" products because they are in a hurry. An analysis of the food on the market, whether it is Western or Chinese, shows that more than 90% of them contain "preservatives" or "antioxidants" in order to extend their shelf life. Although these are legal additives, some ingredients, if used in large quantities for a long time, will not only affect the liver and kidneys, but will also interfere with the body's endocrine system and indirectly lead to obesity problems.

In fact, according to traditional customs, the older generation would use salt or sugar to pickle some meat or fruits before the New Year to extend the shelf life of the food. However, with the advancement of food technology, many artificially synthesized "preservatives" have appeared. Although they are effective, they are not suitable for long-term use in large quantities. Dr. Liu Boen said that a research report published in the international journal Science Translational Medicine pointed out that feeding mice with low doses of propionic acid resulted in weight gain and symptoms of type 2 diabetes.

Another study, which involved 14 volunteers for human experiments, also found symptoms of increased blood sugar and insulin. Research on another commonly used food antioxidant, butylated toluene (BHT), found that BHT affects the digestive system's signals to the brain's neurotransmitters, causing the brain to be unable to receive signals of satiety, which in turn causes the feeling of hunger and weight gain.

Preservative additives commonly found in general processed foods are of various types and are usually added to flour-based foods, such as common pastries, bread, and biscuits. If you eat too much at one time or eat them frequently, you may develop respiratory and digestive symptoms such as allergies and asthma. Many of these artificial synthetic chemicals contain phosphorus. Long-term and excessive use will inevitably lead to concerns about liver and kidney dysfunction.

Because such chemical agents, when used in large quantities, will interfere with the metabolic process and even cause "chronic inflammation" reactions. These negative physiological reactions will directly or indirectly interfere with energy metabolism, causing excessive calories to accumulate in the body and cause weight gain. Recently in clinical clinics, many people complained that they gained weight after eating just one or two packets of snacks and it was difficult to lose weight. The potential reason is these artificial chemical ingredients.

You can also consume more dietary fiber and vegetables and fruits to promote intestinal motility and remove harmful substances.

4 tips for body cleaning

To prevent excessive toxins from causing adverse effects on the body, Dr. Liu Boen recommends the following 4 tips for cleaning the body. You may wish to learn them:

1. Do not take too much preservatives: Avoid consuming too many preservatives or antioxidants to prevent them from accumulating in the body and causing physical burden.

2. Supplement dietary fiber: You can also consume more dietary fiber and vegetables and fruits to promote intestinal peristalsis and take away harmful substances.

3. Do aerobic exercise: Appropriate aerobic exercise can help promote detoxification of the body.
