I just can't lose the extra fat. Will it be effective to try a healthy diet?

"Cell Host & Microbe" published the latest publication from Washington University in St Louis, USA. The research team pointed out that the bacteria in the intestines and the host's eating habits may influence each other; eating a lot of processed food may reduce the diversity of intestinal bacteria and may therefore cause difficulties for the host to control weight.

In the study, the authors analyzed samples of the intestinal bacteria of subjects with less healthy eating habits (typical Western diet) and subjects with healthy eating habits (regular consumption of a calorie-restricted diet rich in vegetables). The experimental results found that subjects with healthy eating habits, on average, had a richer diversity of intestinal bacteria.

The authors then implanted the intestinal bacteria of subjects with an unhealthy diet into experimental mice and asked the mice to adopt a healthy diet. The results showed that despite adopting a healthy diet, the physical health of these mice was still difficult to improve significantly in the short term.

The authors said that according to the experimental results, people who usually have unhealthy eating habits and poor intestinal microbial composition may still have lower weight loss efficiency due to intestinal bacterial imaging even if they start a healthy vegetarian diet. For those who have an unhealthy diet, probiotic yogurt drinks may help with weight management.
