Many of my female students wish their legs could be thinner. Many women have the problem of having thick legs. Some even think that fitness and jogging will make their legs thicker, and thus stay away from exercise. But in fact, it is male hormones that can increase muscle size. Since women have less male hormones in their bodies, no matter how much they exercise, they cannot develop big muscles like men. Although the thickness of the legs is related to natural conditions such as the size of the skeleton and the proportion of the upper and lower body, basically, it is more determined by the ratio of muscle to fat. Human legs can be roughly divided into four types based on the ratio of muscle to fat: one is "more muscle and less fat"; two is "no muscle, only fat"; three is "more fat and more muscle"; and four is "less muscle and less fat". The most ideal leg condition is the first one - "more muscle and less fat". Aging starts from the lower body. There are many benefits to exercising the lower body muscles. It not only makes body movements smoother, allowing you to walk, run, go up and down stairs, and lift heavy objects without any problems; it also protects the knee and hip joints that are prone to pain after middle age. Not only that, it can also increase the basal metabolic rate and create a "non-fat physique". Therefore, "more muscle and less fat" can not only make your legs appear in the most ideal condition, but also make it easy for you to maintain beautiful legs without gaining weight. After reading this, do you also want to start exercising to slim down your legs? If you want to have beautiful legs, you must lose fat while building muscle. In addition to leg muscle training, you should also engage in aerobic exercises such as jogging, and combine it with a low-calorie diet. This is a "three-pronged approach." The reason why some people gain fat in their legs after exercise is because they only gain muscle without losing fat. Exercise the inner thigh muscles to create slender legs The ratio of the muscles in the front of the thigh (quadriceps) to the muscles in the back (hamstrings) is very important because these two groups of muscles affect the "visual effect" of the leg. Suppose there are two people with the same amount of leg muscles. The one with more developed front muscles looks like he has thicker legs. Conversely, the one with more developed back muscles looks like he has thinner legs. Exercising the hamstrings can help lift the buttocks, give the legs beautiful muscle lines, and make the skin firmer. The muscles in the front of the thigh are much easier to train than those in the back. This is actually related to the "consciousness principle." The "consciousness principle" is one of the basic principles of muscle training, which means deliberately exercising in accordance with the habits of the muscles (muscle position and dynamics) to make the movements more accurate and improve training efficiency. When exercising the front muscles, the movements are usually more precise because the condition of the muscles can be confirmed with the naked eye, thereby improving the training effect. On the contrary, the muscles in the back cannot be confirmed with the eyes, so the movements are naturally more difficult to do accurately. Additionally, poor walking posture can strengthen the muscles in the front of your thigh. Take hunching over while walking as an example. Hunching over will increase the load on the front of the body, stimulate the muscles in the front of the thigh, make the quadriceps more developed, and cause degeneration of the hamstring tendon. If you want to have a pair of beautiful legs, the correct walking posture is absolutely essential! Slippers and sandals are the culprits of calf obesity Do you have the habit of wearing slippers or sandals at home or at work? Or do you prefer to wear closed-toe slippers? If so, pay attention! Although walking in slippers or sandals is comfortable, it has adverse effects on the legs. Normally, walking requires the use of the entire sole of the foot, with the heel touching the ground first and then the center of gravity shifting to the toes. However, when wearing this type of shoes, people walk on their toes. Once you get used to this way of walking, it is impossible to correct it. The correct way to walk requires flexing and extending the ankle, using the entire sole of the foot. The calf muscles will also stretch and contract and become tighter. Slippers will hinder the contraction of the calf muscles, causing the calves to sag, making them look naturally fatter. Therefore, "going barefoot at home" and "using muscles correctly in daily life" are also one of the secrets to building beautiful legs!
