This is also the main reason for weight loss failure. He suggested that humane methods should be adopted to ensure long-term weight loss.

For example, Ms. Wang, who likes to eat starchy foods such as rice and desserts, had previously tried drastic weight loss methods, which made her stubbornly obese and difficult to lose weight. After adopting the segmented diet weight loss method, she changed her previous unhealthy eating habits and lost 25 kilograms in 4 months.

Ms. Wang shared that she eats fat-free starchy foods for breakfast, such as steamed buns, rice balls, etc. At noon, she eats rice as the staple food as usual, but she must eat vegetables and fruits with it. However, she should try to avoid starch at night and eat mainly vegetables, chicken, eggs, fish, etc., because consuming an appropriate amount of protein when losing weight helps burn fat, and she must drink enough water every day.

Dr. Lu Jiaxiang mentioned that as long as the main cause of the patient's obesity is understood, even patients with stubborn obesity can lose weight successfully. However, Ms. Wang's method of avoiding starch for dinner is not recommended for patients with immune systems, such as lupus erythematosus, cancer, pregnant women and patients with severe depression.
