The dangers of pelvic inflammatory disease

The dangers of pelvic inflammatory disease

Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common disease among women. Some women with pelvic inflammatory disease do not actively seek treatment, which is an incorrect attitude. If pelvic inflammatory disease is serious, it will cause great harm to women. So what are the dangers of pelvic inflammatory disease?

1. Infertility: Inflammation occurs in any part of the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries or the surrounding tissues in the pelvic cavity of women, including the peritoneum in the pelvic cavity.

2. Sepsis and septicemia. Patients with septicemia often have chills, high fever, fast and weak pulse, multiple bleeding spots on the skin and mucous membranes, splenomegaly, and in severe cases, unconsciousness or even coma. Septicemia is when purulent bacteria enter the blood and circulate in the blood, causing secondary abscesses in other parts of the body.

3. Kidney disease. If acute pelvic connective tissue inflammation is not treated, the inflammation can not only spread to the fallopian tubes, pelvic peritoneum and other tissues and organs, causing pelvic abscesses, but can also spread upwards, leading to perirenal abscesses.

4. Diffuse peritonitis. The development and spread of inflammation can spread to the outermost serosa of the uterus, which is the part that connects the uterus to other pelvic organs. Inflammation can lead to pelvic peritonitis, which will continue to develop into diffuse pelvic peritonitis, with symptoms of systemic poisoning, such as high fever and nausea.

5. Septic shock. In the case of severe infection, pathogens multiply rapidly in the body. These bacteria secrete a large amount of endotoxins, which circulate throughout the body with the blood and quickly cause the body to react. This is also one of the causes of acute septic shock.

6. Tubal pregnancy. Chronic salpingitis is a common factor that interferes with the normal operation of the fertilized egg and is the main cause of tubal pregnancy.
