Will ovarian cysts affect menstruation? Are there any other dangers?

Clinically, ovarian cysts often present with lower abdominal pain, lower abdominal discomfort, increased vaginal discharge, yellow vaginal discharge, abnormal vaginal odor, and menstrual irregularities. There is usually a solid and painless mass in the lower abdomen, and sometimes sexual intercourse may cause pain.

After a female friend is infected with ovarian cysts, it will have more or less impact on the female body. Women may indeed experience menstrual irregularities after being infected with ovarian cysts. Generally, women may experience reduced menstrual volume and shortened menstrual cycles.

Ovarian cysts also have the following risks:

1. Causes premature aging of women's appearance: Ovarian cysts can cause premature aging, endocrine disorders, malignant changes, and even ovarian cancer.

2. Causes edema and affects life: In addition to loss of appetite, weight loss and abdominal swelling, patients with ovarian cysts may also experience vomiting, fever and severe abdominal pain; in the later stages, it may even cause edema in the abdomen and limbs.

3. Cause miscarriage and dystocia: Ovarian cysts may cause miscarriage in early pregnancy, ovarian cyst pedicle torsion is prone to occur in mid-pregnancy, and larger cysts in late pregnancy may lead to abnormal fetal position, which may block the birth canal and cause dystocia during delivery.

4. Cause infertility and affect fertility: Once the ovarian cyst becomes larger or degenerates, it is possible that the sperm, egg or fertilized egg cannot function normally, thereby affecting fertility and leading to infertility.

5. Canceration, life-threatening: Ovarian cysts can easily become twisted, infected, bleeding or burst, threatening the patient's life. Some tumorous cysts can even become cancerous.
