What are the symptoms of cervicitis

Cervicitis is one of the common gynecological diseases, which is more common in women of childbearing age. It is caused by damage to the cervix and invasion of pathogens, including inflammation of the cervical vagina and cervical mucosa. Clinically, cervicitis is divided into acute and chronic, with chronic inflammation being the most common. The symptoms of cervicitis mainly include the following two types:

1. Acute cervicitis: increased leucorrhea, purulent, may be accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, or bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain. The cervix is congested, red and swollen, and easily bleeds when touched. There may also be sticky and purulent leucorrhea, which is not conducive to the passage of sperm.

2. Chronic cervicitis: Leucorrhea is milky white mucous or light yellow purulent, and may be accompanied by vulvar itching and burning sensation. When the inflammation spreads to the pelvic cavity, there may be lumbar pain, lower abdominal distension and dysmenorrhea, which worsens after defecation or sexual intercourse. Gynecological examination can show erosion-like changes in the cervix, or yellow secretions covering or flowing out of the cervical opening, which may also manifest as cervical polyps or cervical hypertrophy.

Symptoms of cervicitis include increased vaginal discharge, vulvar itching, contact bleeding, abnormal vaginal discharge, etc. For these symptoms, timely detection and treatment are the key. If you suspect that you have symptoms of cervicitis, you should seek medical attention and treatment in time to avoid worsening of the disease. At the same time, maintaining good living habits and eating habits can also help prevent the occurrence of cervicitis.
