Chocolate cyst, also known as ovarian endometriosis cyst, is a type of lesion of endometriosis.

There are three main theories about how endometriosis develops:

Implantation theory, chemical theory and epithelial origin theory. In the study of ovarian endometrioma, the implantation theory is the most respected.

The cause of endometriosis is not clear yet, and its histology is complex and cannot be completely prevented.
