"Cervical erosion" can be divided into mild (erosion area accounts for less than 1/3 of the entire cervical area), moderate (occupying 1/3-2/3 of the entire cervical area), and severe (occupying more than 2/3 of the entire cervical area). Generally, doctors can make a clear diagnosis just by looking at it. In life, many patients are afraid of this disease probably because of the word "erosion". Let's take a look at whether cervical erosion needs treatment. Does cervical erosion need treatment? The cervical canal is composed of columnar epithelium, and the external cervical os is composed of squamous epithelium. The area where the two meet is called the squamous-columnar junction, and its position is not fixed and moves with estrogen levels, age, endocrine system, etc. During adolescence and childbearing period, especially during pregnancy, the columnar epithelium will turn outward to the external cervical os. Since the columnar epithelial cells are relatively thin, the capillaries will faintly ooze out, so it will appear red. In the past, people called it "cervical erosion." Although cervical erosion is a normal physiological phenomenon, we cannot ignore all erosions. Because when the cervix is in a state of erosion, it means that the columnar epithelium of the cervix is everted. Since the columnar epithelium is single-layered and has lower resistance than the squamous epithelium, it means that the cervix is in a period of low resistance under this state. If it is combined with other comprehensive problems such as cervicitis at this time, it is easy to cause the invasion of pathogens such as viruses and bacteria, thereby inducing more serious cervical diseases. Of course, it does not mean that simple cervical erosion and the longer the erosion lasts, the more likely you will get cervical cancer. Simple cervical erosion will not directly lead to cervical cancer if there is no high-risk HPV virus infection. When there is persistent high-risk HPV infection, if there is cervical erosion or other gynecological diseases at the same time, it will provide a "breeding ground" for the virus to grow and multiply. The probability of self-clearance of high-risk HPV virus is lower than that in normal state, and the probability of cervical cancer is relatively higher. Therefore, erosion is the "root of the problem". Regular inspection of cervical erosion is very necessary. Common screening methods include TCT and HPV testing. This is not to prevent cervical erosion, but to detect cervical precancerous lesions early and prevent cervical cancer. Early symptoms of cervical erosion 1. The initial symptoms of cervical erosion include pain in the lower abdomen and waist: when the inflammation is severe, it can spread along the uterosacral ligament and cardinal ligament to cause pelvic connective tissue inflammation, causing pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region, accompanied by a feeling of falling. 2. Infertility: Thick leucorrhea is not conducive to sperm penetration, so severe cervical erosion may lead to infertility. 3. Vulvar itching and pain: The vulva and vagina may be stimulated by increased leucorrhea, which may lead to vulvitis or vaginitis and cause vulvar itching and pain. 4. Frequent urination or difficulty urinating: When the inflammation spreads to the bladder trigone or around the bladder, frequent urination or difficulty urinating may occur. 5. The initial symptoms include increased vaginal discharge: increased vaginal discharge is the main symptom of cervical erosion. Usually the vaginal discharge is milky white or light yellow purulent secretions, and sometimes it may be bloody or mixed with blood. At present, some doctors in China will express "cervical erosion" during physical examination and diagnosis based on the patient's symptoms; but from the above description, the low back pain and abnormal leucorrhea should be classified as chronic cervicitis.
