Threatened abortion refers to a small amount of vaginal bleeding and (or) lower abdominal pain before 28 weeks of pregnancy, the cervix is not open, the membranes are not ruptured, the pregnancy products have not been discharged, and the size of the uterus is consistent with the number of weeks of amenorrhea; early threatened abortion is clinically manifested as early pregnancy reaction after amenorrhea, and then a small amount of vaginal bleeding, or intermittent bleeding, or continuous bleeding, red color, lasting for several days or weeks, no abdominal pain or slight lower abdominal distension, back pain and lower abdominal distension. The main manifestation of general threatened abortion is a small amount of vaginal bleeding after pregnancy. Depending on the amount of bleeding and the time it accumulates in the vagina, the color can be bright red, pink or dark brown. Sometimes accompanied by slight lower abdominal pain, fetal movement with a sense of falling, backache and abdominal distension. According to folk tradition, the main basis for threatened abortion is seeing blood. Vaginal bleeding: Vaginal bleeding can be divided into light bleeding and heavy bleeding, continuous bleeding and irregular bleeding. Although bleeding is often considered the first sign of miscarriage, it is normal to have vaginal bleeding in the first three months of pregnancy, but vaginal bleeding accompanied by pain requires special attention, because it is very likely a sign of miscarriage. Pain: You may have persistent pain in your pelvis, abdomen, or lower back. The pain may start a few hours or days after vaginal bleeding begins. Vaginal blood clots: Vaginal discharge of blood clots or grayish tissue. Embryo (30%): The main reason is the imperfect reproductive cells of the father or mother. Although the imperfect reproductive cells can barely combine to form an embryo, they will eventually die early and cannot be born at full term. Miscarriage caused by this reason can actually be said to be a good thing. Because the abnormal fetus, if it is really born at full term, will also have deformities or abnormalities. Other reasons such as insufficient oxygen supply to the umbilical cord, amniotic fluid disease, placental virus infection and certain gynecological inflammations can also cause miscarriage. Malnutrition of pregnant women is also one of the causes of miscarriage. Some pregnant women have severe nausea and vomiting of pregnancy in the early stages, resulting in extreme nutritional deficiency, which has a great impact on the development of the embryo and is also prone to miscarriage. Maternal aspects (30%): After a woman becomes pregnant, if she experiences emotional instability, anger, sadness, or other mental stimulation, it will disrupt the activity of the cerebral cortex, causing the uterus to contract and force the embryo out, or causing the embryo to die in the uterus. Suffering from acute infectious diseases such as influenza and rubella can cause miscarriage due to high fever and toxins released by bacteria and viruses. Endocrine disorders, such as corpus luteum, pituitary gland, and thyroid dysfunction, as well as excessive uterine retroflexion in uterine hypoplasia, which causes the uterine cavity to hinder the development of the embryo, can all cause miscarriage. Other aspects (30%): Sexual life should be cautious during the entire pregnancy period. Inappropriate sexual life, especially in the early stages of pregnancy, can easily cause miscarriage. In the second trimester, sexual life should also be moderate, avoiding sexual intercourse positions that compress the pregnant woman's abdomen and rough sexual intercourse to avoid causing miscarriage. During the perinatal period, if the gynecological examination is done in a rough manner, it is also one of the causes that can easily cause miscarriage. This is especially important for pregnant women with weak constitutions. Drugs and certain chemical substances, such as quinine, carbon monoxide, aluminum, phosphorus, mercury, and benzene poisoning, often make it difficult to save the embryo. Abortion can be classified into threatened, early or late, complete or incomplete types according to the number of days of pregnancy and the situation at the time. Among them, threatened abortion is the most common, accounting for about 50% of all pregnancies. However, only 10-15% of them actually result in abortion. Therefore, some can be preserved, while others are not. Some have tried every possible means to preserve the fetus, but still end up with a miscarriage. On the surface, abortion seems to be a very regrettable thing, but from the point of view of genetics, abortion is not a bad thing, because the rate of chromosomal abnormalities in aborted fetuses is quite high. 1. Pay attention to rest. Pregnant women should rest in bed more and reduce activities, but this does not mean they should lie in bed motionless for 24 hours. They should do some light activities appropriately. 2. Sexual intercourse must be prohibited and unnecessary vaginal examinations should be minimized to reduce stimulation to the uterus. 3. In addition, avoid stimulating the breasts, because stimulating the breasts can also cause uterine contractions and lead to threatened abortion. Pay attention to the amount and nature of bleeding and observe whether there is tissue in the vaginal discharge at any time. It is best to keep the discharge for the doctor to observe. If the amount of bleeding increases, go to the hospital for treatment in time. Pay attention to abdominal pain: If expectant mothers experience back pain and a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen that does not ease after rest or even worsens, they should be alert. If the lower abdominal pain worsens, is accompanied by vaginal bleeding, and tissue-like discharge occurs, they should report it to the doctor immediately. 1. General treatment If threatened abortion occurs, pregnant women should pay attention to rest, reduce activities, refrain from sexual life, avoid unnecessary vaginal examinations, reduce stimulation to the uterus, and avoid excessive mental stress, otherwise it will cause abortion. After the bleeding stops, it is best to rest for two weeks before returning to work. This treatment method for threatened abortion is suitable for female friends with mild symptoms of threatened abortion. 2. Drug treatment Progesterone can ensure embryonic development, maintain pregnancy, inhibit uterine smooth muscle contraction, and reduce uterine tension. In the early stages of pregnancy, progesterone can be used to maintain pregnancy, or intramuscular injection of human chorionic gonadotropin can be used for treatment (because this hormone can stimulate corpus luteum function). In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, sedatives and beta-blockers can be used to reduce mental stimulation and inhibit uterine contractions. In addition, oral vitamin E is also beneficial for maintaining embryonic development. TCM treatment of threatened abortion Traditional Chinese medicine can treat according to syndrome differentiation: for kidney deficiency, use Cuscuta, mistletoe, donkey-hide gelatin, and Dipsacus asper. For trauma, Xiao Chaihu Decoction can be used to treat threatened abortion with additions of Angelica, Bupleurum, Raw Astragalus, Cimicifuga root, mistletoe, donkey-hide gelatin, and Dipsacus asper. 1. Daily health care The first three months of pregnancy are an unstable period, and the placenta function will not be fully developed until about three months. Therefore, the placenta function is not yet complete in the early pregnancy, and the ovarian function is not complete, so the secretion of progesterone is insufficient. Progesterone is the so-called tocolytic hormone. In the case of insufficient tocolytic hormone, the first three months of pregnancy are an unstable period. In addition, the first three months are an important period for the development of the fetal nerves and brain. Expectant mothers must also pay special attention to avoid hindering the development of the fetus's central nervous system. The following 4 points are the general principles to pay attention to in the early pregnancy: 1. Avoid fatigue. Generally, expectant mothers should not be too active in the first three months of pregnancy, because excessive activity may cause threatened miscarriage. If vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain occurs, it is a warning sign of threatened miscarriage and you need to see a doctor as soon as possible. In addition, such a situation may be caused by excessive fatigue or excessive activity, and expectant mothers should also rest in bed more. 2. Use of medications The first three months of pregnancy are a critical period for the development of the fetus' central nervous system. Therefore, you must be particularly careful when using medications and inform your doctor that you are pregnant when seeing a doctor. 3. Avoid radiation. Activities in the first three months of pregnancy should focus on minimizing the impact on the development of the fetal nervous system. Therefore, if you have to take an X-ray, ask the doctor to use the lowest dose and remember to cover your belly with a protective shield. 4. Balanced diet During pregnancy, you need to consume the six major food groups in a balanced manner. If the expectant mother has anemia, she can take iron supplements after diagnosis by a doctor. In the first three months of pregnancy, morning sickness is severe due to hormonal changes. Vitamin B6 can be taken to alleviate morning sickness. 1. Dietary taboos for threatened abortion include not eating raw or cold food. 2. Pregnant women should not drink alcohol during pregnancy. 3. Do not eat hot food. |
