Some women are always shy when they think about getting a bacterial vaginosis test, thinking that the test must be related to the vagina. Knowing the test items of bacterial vaginosis in advance can greatly help relieve their psychological pressure. The following are the steps for bacterial vaginosis testing given by gynecologists: 1. pH value Under normal circumstances, female vaginal secretions are weakly acidic, which can prevent pathogenic bacteria from multiplying in the vagina. This is the self-cleaning function of the vagina. The pH value is often used to indicate the acidity and alkalinity in laboratory tests. The normal pH is 4.5. The pH value of leucorrhea increases when suffering from trichomonas or bacterial vaginosis. 2. Vaginal cleanliness can be divided into 4 levels: Note: Grades Ⅰ to Ⅱ are normal, and grades Ⅲ to Ⅳ are abnormal leucorrhea, indicating bacterial vaginosis. 3. Fungi and Trichomonas After the leucorrhea is processed, its morphology can be used to detect the presence of trichomonas or fungi under a microscope. 4. Amine test The leucorrhea of patients with bacterial vaginosis may have a fishy odor, which is caused by the amines present in the leucorrhea being volatilized after being alkalized by potassium hydroxide. 5. Clue Cells Clue cells refer to the presence of many bacilli aggregated on the edge of the vaginal epithelial cells in patients with bacterial vaginosis. In the hanging drop smear, the edges of the vaginal epithelial cells are granular or stippled, making them blurred. These are clue cells. They are the most sensitive and specific sign of bacterial vaginosis. Clinicians can make a diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis based on a positive amine test and the presence of clue cells. 6. Mycoplasma and Chlamydia Detection Cervical mucus testing can confirm non-gonococcal bacterial vaginosis caused by mycoplasma and chlamydia infection. If you have sex, especially if you have pain, abdominal distension, more than two sexual partners, if you continue to take medication and the condition does not improve or recurs, or if you have cervical erosion, you need to be checked. If you are diagnosed with non-gonococcal bacterial vaginosis, this test is very important to choose the right antibiotic for you. Warm reminder, there are many types of bacterial vaginosis, the symptoms are similar, and it is not easy to judge. And everyone's physical constitution is different, so you can't take medicine at will. You must treat it according to the symptoms under the guidance of a doctor to achieve the best effect. |
