Frequent vaginal douching can easily lead to ectopic pregnancy

Too frequent vaginal flushing can disrupt the acid-base balance of the vagina and even lead to ectopic pregnancy. The reason for this is closely related to the following four factors.

1. Damage to the fallopian tube

Studies have found that women who frequently use vaginal douching devices to clean their vagina are 3 to 4 times more likely to have an ectopic pregnancy than those who never do vaginal douching. This is mainly because vaginal douching can easily damage the normal structure of the fallopian tube, thereby inducing salpingitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and even causing the serious consequence of ectopic pregnancy.

2. Disinfection is not strict

Using irregular commercially available douching equipment to clean the vagina will greatly increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy, especially the douching solution prepared privately by oneself, which will increase the chance of ectopic pregnancy by 3-4 times. This is mainly caused by lax disinfection. Many of them are even unsterilized and contaminated instruments or solutions. Once they enter the fallopian tube, they can easily cause fallopian tube infection and scarring of the surrounding tissues. Most of the time, the patient's symptoms are not obvious and cannot be treated in time, which will increase the incidence of ectopic pregnancy.

3. Activate existing pathogens

Vaginal douching may also activate pathogens that are already infected in the female vagina or cervix, causing them to invade the fallopian tubes and affect their normal function, leading to ectopic pregnancy.

4. Damage to the ciliary structure of the fallopian tube

Vaginal douches themselves can have certain adverse effects on the ciliated epithelial tissue of the fallopian tubes, which is also a contributing factor to ectopic pregnancy, so vaginal douches should not be used frequently.
