What are the main causes of cervical erosion?

The treatment of cervical erosion includes drug therapy and physical therapy, and its occurrence is related to factors such as hormone levels, infection, and mechanical stimulation. Drug therapy can use antibiotics, antiviral drugs, or hormone drugs, and physical therapy includes laser, freezing, or electrocautery.

Cervical erosion is a common gynecological disease, and its occurrence is related to multiple factors. Genetic factors do not play a dominant role in cervical erosion, but women with a family history of cervical disease need to be vigilant. Environmental factors such as long-term exposure to chemicals or radiation may increase the risk of disease. Physiological factors are one of the main causes of cervical erosion. Excessive estrogen levels can cause the cervical columnar epithelium to migrate outward, forming erosion-like changes. Mechanical stimulation such as frequent sexual intercourse, multiple births, or the use of intrauterine contraceptive devices may damage cervical tissue and induce erosion. Among pathological factors, diseases such as chronic cervicitis and human papillomavirus infection will further aggravate the degree of cervical erosion.

For the treatment of cervical erosion, drug therapy is the first choice. Antibiotics such as azithromycin and cephalosporins can effectively control infection; antiviral drugs such as acyclovir are used to treat HPV infection; hormone drugs such as estrogen and progesterone can regulate endocrine levels. Physical therapy is suitable for patients with severe symptoms or those who are ineffective with drug therapy. Laser therapy destroys the diseased tissue through high temperature, cryotherapy uses low temperature to cause tissue necrosis and shedding, and electrocautery therapy burns the diseased area with electric current. Dietary conditioning is also helpful for the recovery of cervical erosion. Eat more fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C such as oranges and kiwis, supplement protein such as eggs and milk, and avoid spicy and irritating foods. Moderate exercise such as yoga and jogging can enhance physical fitness, but strenuous exercise should be avoided to avoid aggravating the condition.

The treatment of cervical erosion requires an individualized plan based on the specific cause and severity of the disease. At the same time, attention should be paid to preventive measures in daily life, regular gynecological examinations should be conducted, problems should be discovered and dealt with in a timely manner, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle will help reduce the risk of cervical erosion.
