The daily protein intake required by a healthy adult depends on body weight. On average, 0.75 grams of protein is needed for every kilogram of body weight. For an adult male weighing 70 kilograms, he needs to consume at least 52.5 grams of protein every day. If you are a long-distance runner (endurance athletes), you need 1 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram. Athletes who emphasize instantaneous muscle explosiveness (strength/power athletes) such as weightlifters need to increase their protein intake to 1.6 to 2 grams. Therefore, for those who want to work out and build muscle, they must choose milkshakes with higher protein content. For athletes who emphasize muscle endurance, they need to have more carbohydrates in them. As for those who want to lose weight, they must pay attention to the carbohydrate and fat content, otherwise all their efforts will be in vain.

Animal protein mainly comes from dairy products or eggs, while plant protein comes from soybeans. The effects of the two are similar, but plant protein has an additional antioxidant effect. Many men mistakenly believe that soy protein is a panacea for women to relieve menopause, and worry that consuming it will reduce testosterone and muscle in the body. In fact, these are wrong concepts.

Although drinking too much protein shakes will not cause too much negative harm to the human body, nutritionists generally recommend taking protein from your daily diet. Unless there are special needs such as exercise, fitness or health, there is no need to drink it like water. Former US President Bill Bill Clinton recently publicly admitted that his health has been deteriorating in recent years, so he drinks a protein shake every morning to replenish the nutrients his body lacks.
