What are the treatments for acute pelvic inflammatory disease?

What are the treatments for acute pelvic inflammatory disease?

1. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease includes acute endometritis, acute myometritis, acute fallopian tube oophoritis, acute pelvic connective tissue inflammation, and acute pelvic peritonitis.

2. The symptoms of acute pelvic inflammatory disease may vary depending on the severity and extent of the inflammation. Common symptoms include high fever, chills, headache, loss of appetite and lower abdominal pain. Peritonitis may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, diarrhea and other symptoms. Inflammation irritating the urinary tract may cause dysuria, frequent urination and painful urination; if the rectum is irritated, diarrhea and difficulty in defecation may occur.

3. Acute pelvic inflammatory disease should be treated with bed rest, preferably in a semi-recumbent position, which is conducive to pus accumulation and limits inflammation. Provide adequate nutrition and water, and give blood transfusions in small amounts and multiple times when necessary. Painkillers can be used for severe pain. Physical cooling can be used for high fever. Use antibacterial drugs such as penicillin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol, chloramphenicol, etc. Antibacterial drugs should be taken for two weeks after the symptoms disappear to consolidate the therapeutic effect and prevent the formation of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.

4. When pelvic abscess is formed, it should be incised and drained; if drug treatment is ineffective or if it is suspected to be a fallopian tube abscess or ovarian abscess, surgical treatment should be performed.
