Is pelvic effusion 4.5x2.5 cm serious?

Pelvic effusion is 4.5x2.5cm, which means the amount of pelvic effusion is relatively large. It may be a manifestation of pathological changes caused by various organic diseases such as pelvic inflammatory disease, ovarian cyst rupture, and malignant tumor disease. The condition may be serious.

1. Pelvic inflammatory disease: When the immune function of female patients decreases, bacteria invade the pelvic tissue, which may cause increased local inflammatory exudation, which may cause pelvic effusion up to 4.5x2.5cm. The amount of effusion is relatively large, and symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, and odor in secretions may occur. In severe cases, it may cause sepsis, toxic shock and other critical conditions. The condition is relatively serious. Antibiotics such as ceftriaxone sodium injection, metronidazole injection, and levofloxacin injection can be used for treatment under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Rupture of ovarian cyst: If a female patient has an ovarian cyst rupture, the local tissue of the lesion will bleed into the pelvic cavity, which may lead to pelvic fluid accumulation of 4.5x2.5cm, irregular vaginal bleeding, lower abdominal pain and other symptoms, and in severe cases, hemorrhagic shock and other critical complications. Minimally invasive surgery or traditional surgery may be required.

3. Malignant tumor diseases: If female patients have ovarian cancer, gastric cancer, intestinal cancer and other malignant tumor diseases, they may also cause pelvic effusion of 4.5x2.5cm, which may be accompanied by symptoms such as weight loss and cachexia, and may even be life-threatening. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and other comprehensive treatments can be performed.
