What are the characteristics of chocolate cyst attacks?

What are the characteristics of chocolate cysts? Many people may be unfamiliar with chocolate cysts. It is a type of endometriosis. Many patients lack relevant knowledge and fail to go to the hospital in time after discovery, thus missing the best time for treatment. So, what are the characteristics of chocolate cysts?

1. Dysmenorrhea: Chocolate cyst is the most common type of ovarian endometriosis. The main symptoms are the same as those of endometriosis, manifested as secondary dysmenorrhea, progressive aggravation, accompanied by obvious menstrual bleeding and loose stools.

2. Abdominal pain: Chocolate cysts are prone to rupture during and before and after menstruation, causing sudden lower abdominal pain, which is sometimes misdiagnosed as appendicitis and requires surgery. In addition, about 1/3 of patients complain of lower abdominal pain during sexual intercourse, some of which are so severe that they are afraid of having sex. Another 1/3 of women often feel lower abdominal pain on one or both sides, which may be related to chocolate cysts or pelvic adhesions.

3. Menstrual abnormalities: Chocolate cysts can often lead to menstrual abnormalities, generally with symptoms such as increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period and premenstrual bleeding. These symptoms are related to ovarian dysfunction or concurrent diseases.

4. Fever during menstruation: Patients with ovarian chocolate cysts often have fever during menstruation and extensive pelvic adhesions.

Finally, I would like to remind you that although chocolate cysts have many symptoms and will bring inconvenience to patients' lives, the medical community has accumulated considerable experience in treating chocolate cysts. If you find symptoms of chocolate cysts, you should go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid missing the best time for treatment.
