Will ovarian cysts bleed heavily? What are the symptoms in the late stage?

Many friends have heard of ovarian cysts, but they are not very clear about the symptoms and hazards of ovarian cysts. Due to lack of professional knowledge, patients miss the best treatment opportunities and even threaten their lives. So, will ovarian cysts cause heavy bleeding? What are the late symptoms?

Generally speaking, ovarian cysts will not bleed heavily, but other conditions that may cause bleeding cannot be ruled out. In particular, ovarian cysts can cause abdominal bleeding when the pedicle is twisted or ruptured. Ovarian cysts are not an independent disease. It is a series of ovarian lesions, mainly manifested as enlarged ovaries, including physiological ovarian cysts and pathological cysts. There are many types of ovarian cysts, such as tumorous and non-tumorous. Most are functional ovarian cysts, including follicular cysts, corpus luteum cysts, lutein cysts, inflammatory ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries, and endometriosis cysts. Generally, cysts can cause bleeding, but the amount of bleeding will not be large.

The late symptoms of ovarian cysts are generally very obvious:

Patients with ovarian cysts will have a feeling of abdominal distension in the late stage. The tumor will grow rapidly in a short period of time, and the patient will have symptoms such as abdominal distension, abdominal swelling, and ascites. Small tumors can only be found during pelvic examinations. When the mass gradually grows beyond the pelvic cavity, the mass can be touched by the abdomen. And when women suffer from late-stage ovarian cysts, they will have symptoms of compression. In daily life, everyone knows that when the tumor infiltrates into the surrounding tissues, the patient will experience abdominal pain, back pain or sciatica. If symptoms such as compression of the pelvic veins occur, lower limb edema may occur; huge tumors can compress the bladder, causing frequent urination, dysuria, and urinary retention; compression of the rectum makes defecation difficult; compression of the gastrointestinal tract has digestive tract symptoms; compression of the diaphragm can cause difficulty breathing and inability to lie flat.

As we all know, the harm of ovarian cysts is huge. If they are not discovered and treated early, it will seriously affect women's health. I hope everyone who has ovarian cysts will go to the hospital for treatment in time.
