Ten months of pregnancy: twins, one baby and one uterine fibroid

Ning Hong (pseudonym), who lives in Yilan County, Harbin, always heard her relatives and friends say after she became pregnant that her belly was so big and she must be pregnant with twins. Before Ning Hong gave birth, her husband accompanied her to the Harbin Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for a checkup and found a 16-centimeter giant uterine fibroid growing with the fetus in her uterus.

Since Ning Hong got married last year, she and her husband have always wanted to have a dragon baby. In October last year, Ning Hong finally got her wish, and she and her family were very happy. Ning Hong said that after she became pregnant, she went to the local hospital for several fetal heart rate tests, and the fetus was very healthy. Ning Hong's belly grew bigger day by day, and relatives and friends praised her and said that her belly was really big and she must be pregnant with twins. Whenever she heard this, Ning Hong was very happy. Until July this year, Ning Hong was 9 months pregnant. Accompanied by her husband, the two came to Harbin Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital for examination and delivery.

During the ultrasound examination, Ning Hong saw the result: "Pregnancy complicated by a huge maternal uterine fibroid, about 12×16cm." Seeing this result, Ning Hong was shocked. Her husband accompanied her to the obstetrics ward 3 of the obstetrics and gynecology hospital for treatment. According to the doctor who received the consultation, Song Nana, after examination, the pregnant woman Ning Hong was suffering from a late pregnancy complicated by a huge uterine fibroid.

Uterine fibroids. Ultrasound examination found that her uterine fibroids were 16 centimeters in size, a circle larger than the fetus's head. The hospital immediately organized doctors to consult Ning Hong.

Wei Honglin, director of the obstetrics ward 3, said that the consultation and physical examination found that her uterine fibroids were larger than the fetus's head and occupied the delivery passage, which had seriously threatened the safety of the pregnant woman and the fetus. After the consultation, it was decided to immediately perform surgery on Ning Hong to remove the fetus and remove the huge uterine fibroids.

Wei Honglin said that during the operation, it was found that the uterine fibroids occupied more than 2/3 of the cesarean section incision. After more than 2 hours of surgery, the fetus was successfully removed and the fibroids were removed, saving the patient's uterus and keeping both mother and child safe.
